Andy Goldsworthy is a Scottish sculptor. Andy actually creates works of art by arranging wanders, leaves, stones or whatever he finds in nature.
His works are temporary, but still he leaves wonderful views in nature.
The sculptor argues that his idea, behind everything he does, is much deeper and more complex than others have claimed.
Andy uses various works to create art such as soil, rocks, stones, branches, leaves and similar things that are part of the beautiful nature. His works of art look so beautiful that they seem to be completely created by nature.
No matter where he is, in any part of the world, Andy creates art every day. He creates works that are soon destroyed by weather, wind, rain, snow, sunlight, shadows, and the like. But he still preserves his work by photographing it once he has created the artwork.
His works are of great importance which is related to several meanings: materiality, memory, permanence, growth, chance, labor, vitality, temporality and decay.
Andy explains that although what he creates on the street or in the woods will disappear, it still remains part of the history of that place.
We all leave parts behind ourselves, whether it’s in our memory or in the things we do. Well, that’s why everything changes once it’s touched.
