Netflix’s New Series Is All About Tacos and Premieres This Friday

Carne Asada Tacos with Caramelized Onions

If you’re a fan of any of the Netflix original food shows such as “Chef’s Table” or “Street Food,” get excited for Friday, July 12th, when Netflix will be releasing their newest food docuseries which is all about tacos.

Self-titled “taco scout” and associate producer Javier Cabral shared a first look at the new series, “Las Crónicas Del Taco,” on his Instagram page this past Tuesday, and we can’t wait to binge watch all weekend long.

“For all of you who have been following along my taco carnage in Mexico over the last year, this is why: I am extremely excited to announce…the first ever @netflix Original documentary series focused entirely on tacos and the hardworking taqueros who make it,” wrote Cabral on his personal Instagram page. The show will take a closer look at all different kinds of tacos, where they come from, who makes them, and how they’re made. In the preview alone we learn they’ll be covering all of our favorite types of tacos, including carnitas, asada, canasta, guisado, barbacoa, and pastor.

Cabral definitely knows a lot about great food and more importantly, great tacos, which makes us even more eager for the premiere of this new soon-to-be favorite show; Cabral was a restaurant scout for Jonathan Gold, is an associate editor at the website L.A. Taco, and has written for Saveur, Eater, and the L.A. Times.

The series is done completely in Spanish and will be offered with English subtitles, which Cabral says is great “so you can perfect your taco-ordering Spanish!” While we will definitely be taking his recommendation and turning on the subtitles, we also suggest having some thematic eats on hand when watching—we were already craving tacos from the trailer!
