Best job ever? This bacon internship pays $1,000 and will ask little more of you than to eat bacon and give feedback, and it’s accepting applicants now.
We’ve all had internships of varying degrees of cool and exciting, but imagine one that—instead of demanding grunt work and copy-making—insisted you eat bacon all day, give feedback on it, and snag $1,000 in the process. This only-in-America scenario is playing out now and you could be the lucky intern taking home the bacon this summer.

West Coast fast-casual burger chain Farmer Boys is seeking said bacon intern to complete a full day of “bacon testing” for both existing and potential new menu items including the Bacon Boy Cheeseburger, Farmer’s Burger, and Farmer’s Chopped Cobb Salad. The intern will be paid $1,000 and asked to do little more than eat and “rate each strip of bacon for flavor and thickness.”
Ok, we can handle that. What else?
The one major catch is the position is based in Southern California, so applicants must be willing to commute, but even if you’re not a West coaster, the $1,000 stipend should cover airfare, hotel, and leave a little left over for Lipitor.
