Cute Wood Crafts to Warm-up Your Home These Cold Months

Awesome Wood Crafts Ideas for Christmas

This winter, I’m thinking of wood crafts to beautify my home. I want to add some warmth this cold season and make the surrounding lively.

While I love to cook and bake for my family, beautifying my home and making DIY projects give me so much joy. I confess I get restless if I wouldn’t be able to create something with my hands.

I just love to tinker and make beautiful things from scratch or scrap. If you’re with me for some time, you should know me by now.

So, Christmas and New Year holidays are over, and I’m wrapping up the ornaments I’d put up last December. But there are some Christmas ornaments that can stay until the icy season is over.

Take for example your snowflake wall art or wooden snowman standee. These can stay all throughout the winter season.

In case you don’t have those, don’t worry, I still have some wood crafts you can recreate this weekend. Ready? Here we go!

1. Wood Owl Decor

|

How can something so cute come from these crude logs and twigs? Since it is hard to make a topiary during winter, making a bigger wood owl decor can be a good substitute for your front door.

2. Winter Snowman Door Hanger

|

A snowman door hanger as a Christmas decor is a common sight during Christmas. If you have one, you can change the writings on it and replace it with “Happy Winter.”

But if you are going to start making from scratch, find a pattern online, or simply use your imagination and make an outline on your pallet wood. It is easy to cut the design if you have a power tool to cut the wood.

3. Snowflake Door Hanger

|

Snowflake is another symbol for Christmas, but it also means winter. So recycle your wooden snowflake door hanger too!

Repaint it if you wish, and writing “Let it snow” using a gold metallic sharpie will do the trick.

If it’s made out of reclaimed wood, we’ll take it. Check out these amazing projects! https://t.co/6DhvAmRhAA pic.twitter.com/XwsjToLL05

4. Reclaimed Wood Sign

Wood sign as home decor is one of the clever ways to remind our loved ones what they ought to do during this chilly season. This reclaimed wood sign reminds your family to stay home–since it’s cold outside anyway.

So aside from singing Micheal Bublé’s song while implying they should stay home, doing some wood crafts such as this one could be a wise thing. They can just read the sign.

5. Log Candle Holder

Making a log candle holder is a great idea since it adds a rustic warmth inside your home. Birch wood is always the best choice, but regular firewood is also okay.

Unpolished split log looks simple yet elegant in its own way. All you need to do with this split log is drill a hole in it for the candle or tea light.

6. Snowflakes Wood Wall Art

|

Reclaimed wood somehow gives a warm feeling and texture when turned into wood crafts.

If you want to be thematic for the season, you can simply make (or buy) a snowflake stencil and paint it on the plank. The color combination of red and white is simply vintage.

7. Let It Snow Wood Sign + Wagon Wheel

|

Here’s another vintage idea to beautify your home, and among the many wood crafts I’ve seen, I fell in love with this whole idea.

If you have a wagon wheel in your barnyard or tool shed, then it’s time to put them to good use. You can make it as a decor on your patio together with this wood sign.

8. Wood Slice Winter Wreath

|

Wreaths are also not outdated during winter.

This is one of the easiest wood crafts you can do at home. You can buy these wood slices from Amazon if you don’t have the tools to cut the logs you stacked at home.

9. Wood Slice Coat Rack

|

Is your coat rack getting full these days, and you no longer have a space for your own coat? Then, it’s time to add a new one.

But, instead of simply installing hooks on your wall, make a functional wooden wall art. It doesn’t only serve its purpose of hanging your coat, but it also adds beauty to your wall.

10. Blanket Ladder

|

This is the season wherein all your throws, scarves, and shawls are out from the storage baskets for closets. Everyone in the family just wants them within reach.

This blanket ladder is something we ladies can handle making as a home project. With this super easy tutorial, we can finish it in no time.

You can be stylish with your design too — but still make this project a functional wooden wall decor.

11. Wooden Snowman Standee

|

If you have a snowman standee created this Christmas, don’t put it away yet. Upcycle it!

You can repaint your “Merry Christmas,” or “Happy Holidays” inscription to “Ready…Set… Snow!” Thanks, Reniak for this idea. This snowman standee can be your house name sign too. In my case, I would paint “The Jacksons!”

It is understandable outdoor activities are limited when it’s freezing outside. But then, there are still things you can do indoors like wood crafts inside your workshop.

These activities don’t only make you forget it’s chilly but also these crafts help you beautify your home.
