Being creative during isolation may be difficult as we find less inspiration for the things we want to do. But what if we have ideas for creative crafts you can try while on quarantine to tickle your minds and your child’s as well?
After this calamity, you might have a whole room full of crafts that can serve as memories of the bonding moments you had with your little ones.
Here is our list of ideas you can do with your kids while stuck at home and waiting for the pandemic to end.

Start a Collection of Creative Crafts With Your Kids During the Lockdown
1. Paper Plate Heart Wheel
Let’s start this list of creative crafts with a very simple yet meaningful project. Let your kids make a heart wheel out of paper plates.
You can have them draw the people they love or better yet, use actual photos. It’s especially important to feel the love during these trying times.
2. DIY Paper Kite
For those with enough space in their yards for your kids to roam around, why not let them create a paper kite.
It’s windy during this season and a great time to stay in the yard, away from people, fly a kite, and just enjoy the sun.
3. Toilet Paper Bird Feeder
When you’re done using a roll of toilet paper, don’t throw out the core. Use it instead to create a bird feeder, which you can hang by your garden.
4. Potato Chip Kaleidoscope
After you finish eating your potato chips — those with cylindrical casing — get crafty with your little ones and turn them into kaleidoscopes.
Cute a hole on the other end and use the translucent cap as a display where you and your kids can add patterns.
5. Rainbow Chimes
Create rainbow chimes by letting your kids paint twigs you collect from your garden and paint each twig with a different color. Hang them by using brown yarn and place it by the porch.
After this pandemic, you’ll hang out by your porch and remember the fun times you had while making the chimes while you hear the sound they make when they hit each other.
6. DIY Wood Frame
My husband loves to take photos and develops them by himself. We took a lot of photos one day while having fun and when the pictures came out they looked great.
We made a DIY wooden frame from loose planks we had in our garage and painted it. It is definitely something to make these moments more memorable.
If you have photos lying around and want them to be framed, cut out strips of wood, glue them together and around your photo, and paint them. It will look great in your house.
7. Water Color Banner
Is anyone celebrating his or her birthday soon? People may not come over because everyone is doing home quarantine but you can still make it festive for everyone else at home by letting your kids create a watercolor banner.
All you need is a long yarn, watercolor, some white paper, and scissors.

8. Homemade Balloon Bowl
You probably need a new container to hold your keys or cards? Create a homemade bowl from a balloon.
You just need a balloon, glue, and sheets of recycled paper. It is quick and easy to do. Just a note, my daughter enjoyed popping the balloon at the end. lol
9. Clothespin Puppets
I’ve tried many wooden clothespin crafts for my daughter but one of my favorite thing to do is using them as puppets.
It brings out the creativity in storytelling and arts by painting the pins to your kid’s preferred character.
One great idea is to paint them as characters from Frozen and re-enact the movie through the puppets.
10. Insects and Animals From Egg Cartons
Are your egg supplies running out? Well, I can’t offer you more eggs but I can offer ideas of turning your empty cartons to insects and animals.
It’s a fun way to show their creative side. Cut each container and paint it. Make spiders or even a chicken. You can also add in wobbly eyes to make those mini crafts come alive.
11. Laser Maze
A make-shift laser maze, that is, and not the real lights. Create a laser maze out of red yarn taped to the wall to create an obstacle.
If you have more kids, this will be a fun way to role play as a spy or set up a competition among themselves on who can go through it the fastest without hitting a yarn.
12. Homemade Playdough
Perhaps your kids need a new toy to play with? Make homemade playdough just by using all-purpose flour, salt, water, and some food coloring.
It might be messy, but where’s the fun if your kids don’t feel the process of making their toys, right?
13. DIY Sprinkler
Want your kid to be involved in your gardening? Let them help you by allowing them to create a DIY sprinkler using old plastic bottles.
It can help the environment through recycling and at the same time, an ingenious way to get them involved in house chores.
14. Newspaper Fort
Doing this home quarantine can test your patience but can also give you a wild imagination. Create forts out of newspapers with your child this week through this link.
All you need is a few day’s worths of old newspaper, roll it up to make the base and add glue to make them still and sturdy.
You can place it in your kid’s room or even in the living room. It is something you can do during long and boring afternoons.
15. Treehouse
This may be the most difficult thing to do in this list but could spark the best bonding moments with your kids. While you’re at home and have more time with them, follow this guide on how to create a treehouse at your backyard.
However, it would require more time and patience to finish this project but, trust me, it will be all worth it.
The materials needed for this project can be available if you stock up on lumber. If not, old planks from former projects can be used as well.
